I'm in Seattle

I was able to get out of Tegucigalpa!!! Just so you know why I was so worried… take a look at these pictures.

They were taken the day before I left up on one of the hills just outside the city. The farmers burn their shrub on their land and cause a huge haze of pollution over the city. I’m so glad I get to be in fresh air for a while. I’ve heard it has only gotten worse. It won’t get better until our rainy season begins in mid May.

And now I’m in Seattle. What a difference! There are some similarities actually though. For example… Tegucigalpa is surrounded by mountains as well as Seattle. The mountains in Tegucigalpa actually have a lot of evergreens as well as Seattle. Those are about the only two similarities but still it has a few parts that remind me of Tegucigalpa. However here, it is cold! I know I’ve become a wimp now accustomed to Honduras weather but it has only been in the mid 50s while we’ve been here. One day it got up to almost 60 and that was really nice. I do love it though and seriously think it is one of the coolest cities in the world. I haven’t been to that many cities in the world, but I still think it is pretty cool.

It has been awesome to just hang out with my sister, mom, aunt and uncle. I’m really enjoying myself.

Here’s some pictures of our time at Pike’s Place Market.

Jess, sometimes in some ways I feel we lead parallel lives, sorta... Your pics and your trip to Seattle reminds me of my parents coming to Switzerland. Great pics of the tulips and stuff. So glad you get a refreshing time with them!
